Q:  Does the SHA provide emergency Housing?

A:  SHA does not provide emergency housing.  Click here for a list of local shelters.


Q:  How do I check my status on the waiting list? 

A:  Applicants may check their status on the waiting list by calling the application office at (318) 221-2450.  The best day to call is on Thursdays.


Q:  How long will an individual be on the waiting list?

A:  Individuals and/or families usually remain on the waiting list approximately 3 years.


Q:  How will I be notified when I reach the top of the waiting list?

A:  Individuals and/or families will receive notification by mail.


Q:  Does SHA provide housing assistance to individuals under 18 years old?

A:  SHA provides housings assistance to individuals under 18 years old  only if they are emancipated by the court system.


Q:  When and where do I need to report changes in my family income?

A:  If you are still on the waiting list, report any changes to the applications office, 221-2450
