Welcome to the website of the Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS).
This website includes information about our housing program, housing developments, resident services and other important contact information.
The housing authority strives to empower residents of the City of Shreveport with the ability to achieve self-sufficiency and financial independence by providing affordable housing, employment opportunities, educational programs, and access to community resources.

The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) will accept Public Housing applications for three (3) bedroom units beginning at 8:00 a.m., CDT, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 and closing at 5:00 p.m., CDT, Friday, February 24, 2017.
Applications from families who have a minimum of 5 household members will be accepted and added to the three (3) bedroom waiting list. Others will be denied placement on the waiting list.
Online applications can be submitted at https://northwestla.apply4housing.com. No paper applications will be available.
Assistance to complete the application process, due to a documented disability (i.e., Social Security Disability award letter), can be provided at 2500 Line Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71104 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Monday - Friday, February 1 – February 24, 2017. Staff assistance will only be provided to those applicants with a documented disability.
Applications will be ranked by the HACS based on the date and time the electronic information is entered and a confirmation number is received by the applicant.
Applicants will need the following items in order to complete the application:
· A valid email address
· Names, social security numbers, and date of birth for all household members included on the application
· A valid mailing address at the time of application
· Total household income
· Pen and paper to write down confirmation number
Applicants are responsible for keeping their address updated in the Applicant Portal. The Applicant Portal can be accessed at https://northwestla.applicants4housing.com/Public/Login/Login.aspx. The Applicant Portal can only be accessed by applicants who have submitted an application. HACS is not responsible for undeliverable mail.
Keep your address updated via the Applicant Portal
Click on the "Apply for Housing" in the yellow banner at the top of the page. Next click "Update Your Application" in the dropdown menu.
